Sedalia teen arrested following an investigation of a motor vehicle crash

Around 10:00 Friday night, Sedalia police investigated a motor vehicle crash at 16th and Collins. Upon arrival, officers found the vehicle had struck a curb and broke a wheel  An investigation revealed that the driver, 18-year-old Darren Morey of Sedalia, was intoxicated. At the time of the police report, Morey was in the Pettis County Jail pending a $533.50 bond.

Traffic stop results in arrest for Belton man Saturday afternoon

At 4:30 Saturday afternoon, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle at 7th and Porter for having no front license plate. A check through dispatch revealed a passenger in the vehicle identified as 19-year-old Tyler Evans of Belton had three active warrants. Evans was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending $1000 in bonds for two Belton Warrants and a $241.50 on a Pettis County Warrant.

Failure to signal a turn lands a Sedalia man in jail Sunday night

Just before 8:00 Sunday night, Sedalia police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at 16th and Missouri for failure to signal a turn. A computer check revealed that the driver, 22-year-old Jessie Cornwell of Sedalia, also had a failure to appear warrant out of Pettis County. Cornwell was arrested and taken to the Pettis County jail pending a $3500 bond.

Theft of building material and a ladder reported stolen Sunday

On Sunday afternoon, a victim in the 1700 block of South Engineer reported that someone entered his detached garage sometime after Nov. 22 and stole a ladder valued at $75, and 4-bundles of shingles valued at $145. There was no information on a suspect at news time.

Woods Express at 703 East Broadway reported a gas walk-off at 11:33 Sunday night. According to the report a subject pumped $14.66 worth of gas into a gas can, then walked away without paying.
