The following crime reports are from the afternoon of Feb. 15, 2013.

42-year-old Sedalia woman arrested for failure to appear

Just after midnight this (Friday) morning Sedalia police stopped a vehicle at 2nd and Grand for an equipment violation. During an investigation, a passenger identified as 42-year-old Tammy Brown was arrested on a failure to appear warrant on a charge of trespassing. Brown was transported to the Pettis County Jail where she posted an $88.50 bond and was released with a court date.

Burglary complaint investigated Thursday night

At 2:47 Thursday morning, a victim in the 400 block of east 16th filed a burglary complaint with the Sedalia Police Department. According to the victim, a suspect kicked in his front door, entered the home and threw stuff around the house, then left. The police report states the case is under investigation.

Thief attempts to steal a woman’s purse Thursday night

Just after 9:00 Thursday night, a female victim filed an attempted theft report with Sedalia police. The victim told officers a suspect attempted to steal her purse in the area of Wood’s Supermarket. The victim also said her belongings were tossed out of the purse during the attempted theft, and her silver engagement ring was either lost or stolen as a result. The suspect was not identified, but an investigation continues.

Broken vehicle window reported in the 900 block of South Harrison

Around 3:30 this (Friday) morning, Sedalia police took a property damage complaint from a Jefferson City man. According to the victim, someone broke the driver’s side window out of his vehicle sometime over the previous two hours. The vehicle was parked behind a residence in the 900 block of South Harrison. There were no suspects at the time of the police report.
