Warrant check Wednesday afternoon results in arrest for a Sedalia man

At 2:45 Wednesday afternoon, Sedalia Police conducted a warrant check at a residence in the 2200 block of South Ohio. Upon contact with the suspect, 42-year-old Michael Ritcheson of the residence, the Pettis County Warrant for failure to appear out of Pettis County was confirmed. At the time of the police report, Ritcheson was in the Pettis County Jail pending a $5000 bond.

Sedalia man arrested Wednesday afternoon for assaulting his brother

Just after 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, Sedalia Police were dispatched to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 1900 block of South Quincy. Upon arrival, officers made contact with 29-year-old Mark Fritz of the residence, who admitted he had hit his brother in the face four or five times in what he said was an unprovoked assault. Fritz was arrested and taken to the Pettis County jail where he was placed on 24-hour hold pending formal charges.

Casey’s Store reports a case of fraud to the Sedalia Police on Wednesday

On Wednesday a complainant with the Casey’s Store at 716 West 16th came to the police station to report a case of fraud. The complainant told officers that a female suspect had cashed two checks at the store that were fraudulent for a total of $300. The police report states the checks had been stolen from a residence in Henry County. There is a suspect in the case according to the report.
