Sedalia man arrested on a warrant out of Indiana for Child molestation

At 2:06 this morning, Sedalia Police conducted a warrant check at a residence in the 600 block of East 10th St. Upon contact with the suspect, 30-year-old Elmer J Miley Jr., he was found to have a warrant out of Indiana for child molestation. Following confirmation of the warrant, Miley was arrested and taken to the Pettis County jail where he was held without bond on a fugitive from justice application.

34-year-old Sedalia man arrested on assault charges Wednesday

Around 10 a.m. Wednesday morning, Sedalia police were dispatched to the 400 block of East 6th on a disturbance at a residence. Upon arrival, the female victim told officers that the suspect, 34-year-old Freddie Sisemore, had threatened her and her child and said he would burn down her house. Sisemore was located, arrested and transported to the Pettis County jail where he was placed on 24-hour hold pending formal charges.

Sedalia woman arrested on a Higginsville warrant

At 2:42 this morning, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle at 4th and Vermont. A check on the occupants revealed that 29-year-old Jennifer Gasson of Sedalia had a failure to appear warrant out of Higginsville. At the time of the police report, Gasson was in the Pettis County jail pending a $250 bond.

Thief known to the victim steals her vehicle on Monday

On Wednesday, a female victim in the 1100 block of West 2nd St. reported a person known to her had stolen her keys and took her 2003 Dodge Neon. The victim said she has not seen the vehicle since that time. The theft is being investigated.

Suspect known by the victim steals items from her home

Just after 6:30 Wednesday evening, Sedalia police responded to a theft complaint in the 1000 block of South Marriam Ave. Upon arrival, the victim told officers that a suspect known to her had stolen a laptop computer, two phone charges and an unspecified amount of money from her. Value of the stolen items was placed at $640. Police are investigating.
