The following Sedalia Police crime reports are from the afternoon of July 22, 2013.

Woman arrested on probation violation warrants

Just before midnight Friday night, Sedalia police conducted a warrant check at the American Inn located at 1217 South Limit. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the suspect, 28-year-old Melissa McClannahan, who had no listed address. Following confirmation of the warrants, McClannahan was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail pending a $25,000 bond on a Pettis County Probation violation warrant and a no-bond probation violation warrant out of Morgan County.

Sedalia man arrested on a failure to appear warrant for larceny

At 5:18 this Monday morning, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle at Ohio and Pettis for a defective license plate light. A check on the occupants revealed that one of them, identified as 47-year-old Jerry Lappat of Sedalia, had a Pettis County warrant on a larceny charge.  Lappat was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a $2500 cash bond and a $2500 cash or surety bond on the warrant.

Vehicle stop results in arrest for a 19-year-old Sedalia man Friday evening

Around 5:20 Friday evening, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle at 19th and Ingram with an occupant known to have an active warrant. Upon contact with the suspect, 19-year-old Xavier Zuniga, it was found that he had a failure to appear warrant out of Saline County. Zuniga was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail pending a $4000 bond.

Sedalia man arrested during a vehicle stop for defective equipment

Sedalia Police stopped a vehicle at 14th and Barrett at 10:25 this morning for a defective tail light. During an investigation, the driver was found to be driving without an operator’s license. The police report also states the suspect gave an alias to the officers. At the time of the police report the suspect, 31-year-old Pasquel Salmeron of Sedalia, was in the Pettis County Jail pending formal charges for no operator’s license and identification theft.

Traffic stop Friday night lands a Sedalia man in jail

At 8:30 Friday night, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle at 16th and Ohio with a suspect with an active failure to appear warrant for passing bad checks. Arrested at the scene was 35-year-old Steven Johnson of Sedalia. At the time of the police report, Johnson was in the Pettis County jail pending a $2500 bond on the warrant.

Man arrested on a warrant Friday night

Around 10:00 Friday night, Sedalia police arrested 38-year-old Scott Vansell of Sedalia on a failure to appear warrant for stealing. Vansell was arrested and taken to the Pettis County jail pending a $441.50 cash only bond.

Local car dealer reports thefts from a vehicle and property damage

On Thursday afternoon, a complainant with American Auto Sales at 2101 South Limit reported a 1997 Ford F-150 was damaged when someone broke a window to gain access to the vehicle. The complainant reported a radio valued at around $150 and tools valued at $350 were taken from the truck. There was no information on possible suspects in the police report.

Veterinarian’s building on Green Ridge Road broken into

At 7:30 this morning, Sedalia police responded to Sedalia Veterinarian Center located at 3409 Green Ridge Road on a report of trespassing. Upon arrival, the complainant told officers that someone entered the large animal building behind the center sometime over the weekend. There was no information on any missing items at the time of the police report.
