The following Sedalia Police crime reports are from the afternoon of July 8, 2013.

Domestic assaults Saturday afternoon results in arrest for a 19-year-old suspect

Around 4:30 Saturday afternoon, Sedalia police were dispatched to a residence in the 1300 block of West 16th on a reported domestic assault. Upon arrival, two victims were located with minor injuries. The victims told officers they were assaulted by another family member who was presently next door. Officers located the suspect identified as 19-year-old Megan Davis and arrested her. At the time of the police report, Davis was in the Pettis County jail on two domestic assault charges and a property damage charge. Bond on the charges was set at $1067.

Child reportedly playing unsupervised at the Katy Depot early Saturday morning

At 7:45 Saturday morning, Sedalia police received a call from a man who had witnessed a 3-year-old child riding her bike at the Katy Depot unsupervised. Upon contact with the child, officers were unable to find where she lived, so they took her to the police station where the investigation continued. Around 8:20 that morning, the mother of the child called the police to report the child had gotten out through an unlocked front door. The child was returned to the mother and the child abuse hotline was called on the incident.

Burglary on South Grand reported early this morning

Just after midnight this Monday morning, Sedalia police responded to a residence in the 200 block of South Grand on a burglary complaint. Upon arrival, the victim told officers that someone forced entry to his home sometime after 3:00 Sunday afternoon and stole 47” and 32” flat screen televisions and a Bose Surround Sound System. Value of the stolen items was placed at $2600. The police report states there is information on a possible suspect in the case.

TV stolen in a burglary Friday night on North Ohio

Around 6:00 Friday evening, a victim in the 500 block of North Ohio reported someone had broken a window of her residence to gain entry to the home to steal a 38” television and a PlayStation 3. Value of the television and PlayStation was placed at $600 collectively.

Burglars remove a window air conditioner to gain access to a house on West 16th

At 10:30 Friday night, a male victim in the 1000 block of West 16th reported that thieves had removed a window air conditioner from his bedroom to gain access to the home. The victim said the thief or thieves then stole approximately $50 in quarters and a knife valued at $25 from the residence. There are no suspects at news time.

Man’s vehicle broke into at Galaxy Theaters Saturday

Around 6:30 Saturday evening, a male victim filed a theft from a motor vehicle complaint with the Sedalia police. According to the victim, when he returned to his vehicle in the parking lot of the Galaxy Theater after watching a movie, he found a rear door window of his vehicle had been broken out. The victim also stated his HP Sleek Book computer, a radar detector and some loose change was taken from the vehicle. There were no suspects at news time.

Craftsman weed eater stolen from a woman’s backyard Saturday

At 8:30 Saturday morning, Sedalia police took a theft complaint from a woman in the 1600 block of South Carr. According to the victim, a Craftsman weed eater and two gasoline cans full of gas were stolen from her backyard sometime overnight. There are no suspects at news time.
