STING UNIT arrests two Sedalia men on drug related charges Thursday morning

At 5:49 Thursday morning, the Sedalia Police Department’s S.T.I.N.G. unit served a search warrant at 1806 South Montgomery. A press release from the department states a search uncovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Arrested at the scene were 50-year-old Douglas Bradley and 19-year-old Wesley Bradley, both of the home. At the time of the police report, both men were on 24-hour hold in the Pettis County jail pending state charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sedalia woman arrested for driving while suspended following a traffic stop

Around 7:30 this (Friday) morning, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle at Broadway and Harding for expired tags. Upon contact with the driver, 36-year-old Sarah Altis of Sedalia, she was also found to be suspended. Altis was arrested and taken to the Pettis County jail pending a bond of $531.50.

Suspect injures himself during a domestic dispute Thursday afternoon

Thursday afternoon, the Sedalia police were called to a residence in the 500 block of East 13th on a domestic assault case. Upon arrival, a female victim reported that a relative had entered her house and began screaming and yelling at her, making her fear for her safety. The suspect then began hitting himself in the head until he began to bleed. The suspect then grabbed her cell phone, valued at $210, and broke it by throwing it to the ground. The suspect had left the area prior to the arrival of police and is being sought on possible charges of 2nd and 3rd degree domestic assault.

Local motel employee reports a customer damaged motel property, and stole a TV

At 8:30 Thursday morning, Sedalia police responded to the American Inn at 1217 South Limit on a theft complaint. Upon arrival, the complainant told officers that a customer who had rented a room on Wednesday evening stole a 32” television and a picture frame. The suspect also damaged a mini-fridge and a microwave oven when they attempted unsuccessfully to remove them. Property damage and loss of property are estimated at $550. There was no information on a possible suspect in the police report.

Theft from a vehicle investigated by Sedalia Police this (Friday) morning

Around 5:15 this (Friday) morning, Sedalia police investigated a reported theft and property damage complaint in the 1700 block of South Park. According to the victim, someone broke a window of his vehicle and stole his in-dash stereo unit sometime overnight. The thief or thieves damaged the dash of the vehicle in the process of removing the stereo. There was no estimate on the damage or the value of the stereo. There were no suspects at the time of the police report.

Mailbox and post damaged on Sedalia’s East side

A victim in the 1900 block of East 16th reported his mailbox and post were damaged by someone who ran over it sometime Wednesday night. There were no suspects in the case and a damage estimate was not available at news time.
