Female victim reports she was sexually assaulted outside of Sedalia

At 5:30 Tuesday evening, a female victim came to the Sedalia Police Department to report a sexual assault. The victim told officers the assault by two males took place somewhere at an unknown location outside of Sedalia in Pettis County. The police report states the case has been forwarded to the Pettis County Sheriff’s Department for further investigation.

Drag racing ends in arrest for a Warsaw youth

At 12:35 this morning, Sedalia Police observed two-vehicles drag racing on South Limit when the light at the intersection of Broadway and Limit turned green. Arrested in the incident was 17-year-old Scott Shope of Warsaw. The police report states Shope was booked and released with a court date at the Pettis County Jail.

Traffic stop nets a Sedalia woman with a suspended license

Just before 9 this morning, Sedalia Police stopped a vehicle at Broadway and Osage for non-functioning brake lights. A subsequent check revealed that the driver, 39-year-old Geni Cook of LaMonte, was suspended. Cook was arrested and transported to the Pettis County jail pending a $533.50 bond.

Theft from a vehicle reported Tuesday

Around 12:30 Tuesday morning, Sedalia Police responded to a theft complaint that occurred in the parking lot at 3rd and Lamine sometime after 9:30 Monday night. According to the victim, someone stole a radio from her vehicle that was valued at around $300. There were no suspects at the time of the police report.
