The following Sedalia Police crime reports are from the afternoon of Nov. 15, 2013.

Two shoplifters arrested for stealing at Walmart

At 2:43 Thursday afternoon, Sedalia police responded to Walmart on two shoplifting suspects. Upon arrival, officers met with asset protection personnel who told them the suspects had gone to the tool section and loaded a welder valued at $239 and a Dremel Tool valued at $99.97 into their cart. The suspects then went to the purse aisle and took a $2 tag from a purse. They then went to the self-checkout lane and swiped the $2 ticket to pay for the Welder, Dremel Tool, and a $5.00 pair of glasses. The police report states the two suspects were stopped in the vestibule by asset protection personnel. The police arrested 19-year-old Wesley Bradley of Cole Camp and 23-year Brandy Naylor of Sedalia. Police took them to the Pettis County Jail pending bonds of $531.50 each on charges of stealing.

Sedalia man arrested for peace disturbance and urinating in public

Around 3:30 Thursday afternoon, Sedalia police responded to the middle school on an intoxicated subject in the area. Upon arrival, officers located the subject identified as 46-year-old Jesse Smith at 19th and Marvin. Smith was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail pending a bond of $816.50, on charges of private peace disturbance and urinating in public.

Sedalia woman arrested this afternoon for assault

Just after 3:00 this afternoon, Sedalia police responded to a residence in the 1000 block of South Vermont on a reported assault. Upon arrival officers made contact with the suspect, and the victim. Following an investigation 29-year-old Rachel Grady was arrested and transported to the Pettis County jail where she was placed on 24-hour hold pending formal charges of 2nd degree domestic assault.

Sedalia man shoots himself in the leg while cleaning his gun

At 3:25 Thursday morning, Sedalia police investigated a self-inflicted gunshot wound at Bothwell Regional Health Center. When officers arrived, the man had been given pain medication and was in a room. A witness told the officers the man was cleaning his gun and shot himself in the arm. There was no other information in the police report.

Warsaw woman reports sugar put in her gas tank in Sedalia

Around 11:10 Thursday morning, a Warsaw woman walked into the police station and reported her vehicle was damaged sometime overnight. According to the woman, someone put sugar in her gas tank while her 2001 Dodge Durango was parked in the 300 block of South Montgomery. The police report states there is a suspect in the case.
