The following Sedalia Police crime reports are from the afternoon of Sept. 23, 2013.

Sedalia man stopped for speeding has active warrants

At 10:14 Sunday morning, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle for speeding in the area of 16th and Warren. A check on the driver, 30-year-old LaDawn Villareel of Sedalia,revealed he had two active warrants out of Pettis County and one out of Johnson County. At the time of the police report, she was in the Pettis County Jail pending a total of $18,750 in bonds on the warrants.

Two Kansas City area women arrested on drug related charges Friday night

Around 10:30 Friday night, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle at Broadway and Sneed for improper registration. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers found marijuana, drug paraphernalia and prescription pills that did not belong to the driver, 53-year-old Treva Brown of Lees Summit, or her passenger, 53-year-old Ruth Watson of Kansas City, Mo. Both women were arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, where Brown was pending formal charges at the time of the police report. Watson was booked and released with a court date.

Passenger arrested on a Cooper County warrant during a traffic stop Saturday

According to a Sedalia police report, officers stopped a vehicle at 3rd and Kentucky at 5:40 on Saturday evening for expired plates. A passenger, 25-year-old Norman Glazier of Sedalia, was found to have a warrant out of Cooper County during an investigation. He was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a $400 cash only bond.

Female charged with trespassing Friday afternoon

On Friday afternoon, Sedalia police investigated a disturbance in the 500 block of South Osage. Upon arrival officers arrested 17-year-old Shania Pinkett for refusing to leave the area. The police report states Pinkett was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where she was booked and released with a court date on a charge of trespassing.

Sedalia man arrested for driving while suspended this morning

At 7:30 this morning, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle at East Walnut and North Hill with a driver known to be suspended. Following confirmation from dispatch, 26-year-old Ezekial McClinton of Sedalia was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked and released with a court date.

Defective tail light leads to an arrest for a suspended driver Saturday afternoon

Just before 4:00 Saturday afternoon, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle at Broadway and Lamine for a defective brake light. A computer check revealed the driver, 21-year-old Steadman Moore of Sedalia, was suspended. He was arrested and taken to the Pettis County jail where he was booked and released with a court date.

Thefts reported over the weekend

Around noon on Sunday, a woman in the 400 block of East 27th reported her 5’X8’ metal trailer with a mesh floor was stolen from her property. Value of the trailer is $400.

A victim in the 1600 block of East 4th reported her license plate, number 5CR-903, was lost or stolen Saturday.

A victim reported his license plate was stolen while he was at work Saturday. The number on the license is 4WN-649.
