30-year-old Sedalia man arrested on multiple charges Sunday night

Just after 10:00 Monday night, Sedalia police attempted to stop a vehicle at 9th and Marvin with an driver known to be revoked. The driver sped away, and when he stopped, he exited the vehicle and fled the scene. The police report states that the suspect, 30-year-old Michael Fritchey of Sedalia, was apprehended after a short foot pursuit and taken to the Pettis County Jail. At the time of the police report, Fritchey was on 24-hour hold at the Pettis County jail pending state charges of driving while revoked, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.

Traffic stop Sunday night results in arrest for a 23-year-old Sedalia man

Around 10:00 Sunday night, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle at 22nd and New York for speeding. Upon contact with the driver, 23-year-old Angel Cardanas of Sedalia, officers found he did not have an operator's license. Cardanas was arrested and transported to the Pettis County jail pending a bond of $533.50.

22-year-old pedestrian receives serious injuries early this (Monday) morning

At 6:15 this (Monday) morning, the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office reported an accident involving a pedestrian on Highway “U” 3/10 of a mile North of Anderson School Road in Pettis County. The accident occurred when a pedestrian, 22-year-old John Bakert of Sedalia, was struck by a 2009 Nissan driven by 43-year-old Richard Reynolds of Sedalia. Bakert reportedly received serious injuries and was taken via Lifeflight to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment. An investigation continues into the accident.

Rollover accident on Highway 127 in Pettis County injures a Sedalia man

The Missouri State Highway patrol reported a one-vehicle accident on Missouri Highway 127 just South of Route “Y” in Pettis County at 10:30 last Wednesday morning. The accident happened when the 1997 Ford driven by 49-year-old Robert Jackson traveled off the roadway, struck a ditch and overturned. Jackson was wearing his seatbelt and received only minor injuries. He was taken to the Bothwell Regional health Center by APSI Ambulance for treatment.
