Sedalia man arrested on a Sedalia failure to appear warrant

At 4:11 this morning, Sedalia police arrested 52-year-old Billy Casto of Sedalia on a Sedalia warrant for failure to appear. Bond on the warrant was set at $150 cash only.

Lafayette County accident injures two Higginsville residents

At 8:35 Wednesday night, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a one-vehicle accident on Business 13 at Missouri Highway 13 in Lafayette County. According to the accident report, the driver of a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am, 18-year-old Madeline Fiene of Higginsville, failed to stop at a stop sign at a “T” intersection, causing the vehicle to travel off the roadway. The vehicle then became airborne before impacting a ditch and coming to rest in a field. Two passengers in the vehicle identified as 16-year-old Collyn Smith and 17-year-old Ricki Wood of Higginsville received moderate injuries in the accident and were taken to Lafayette County Regional Hospital by EMS for treatment. The accident report also states neither injured party had their seat belt on at the time of the crash.
