Here are your Sedalia Police crime reports for August 8, 2012.

Attempted break in of the Sedalia Post Office reported Tuesday morning

Around 3:30 Tuesday morning, Sedalia police answered a distress alarm at the Sedalia Post Office. Upon arrival an employee told them they believed someone had attempted to break into the building. The police report states they found two windows that had been tampered with on the east side of the building. One window was broken out, and the other one was opened, and the blinds were bent, and torn from the window. There was nothing reported missing at news time, and there were no suspects.

 

19-year-old Houstonia man arrested for stealing at Walmart Monday

At 1 o’clock Monday afternoon Sedalia police responded to Walmart on a shoplifter caught stealing $51.52 in merchandise. Arrested at the scene was 19-year-old David Pichinevsky of Houstonia. At the time of the police report he was in the Pettis County Jail pending $531.50.

 

Local man reports the unauthorized use of his credit card Monday

At 10 o’clock Monday night, Sedalia police took a complaint of a fraudulent use of a credit card from a Sedalia man. According to the victim someone used his credit card out of state and he has not been out of the state. Monday’s complaint is only the latest in a series of credit card complaints that are being investigated.

 

Vehicle battery reported stolen from a tractor on East 24th

Tuesday afternoon, Sedalia police investigated a theft report in the 200 block of East 24th . Upon arrival, the victim told officers someone stole a battery from his tractor sometime between 3 o’clock Monday afternoon, and 3 o’clock Tuesday afternoon that is valued at $50. There was no information on a suspect at news time.

 

Thief makes off with the front license plate of a victim’s car

On Tuesday, a victim in the 100 block of East Chestnut reported the front license plate of his 98 Nissan was stolen sometime between the 2nd and the 6th of August. The vehicle was parked in front of the residence at the time of the theft according to the victim. There are no suspects at this time.
