SPD crime reports 4-25-17

Sedalia Police arrested William T. Cain, 19, in the area of 2nd and Missouri for 2nd degree property damage after officers spotted him as a suspect in a property damage case in the area of 2nd and Missouri at 7 p.m. Monday. He was taken to the SPD to speak with detectives, then transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released.


 

On Monday at 6:50 p.m., Sedalia Police arrested William Marshall Hall, 54, Sedalia, and placed him in 12-hour protective custody due to his intoxication.


 

On Monday, the Sedalia Wal-Mart, 3201 W. Broadway, reported that two females attempted to pass a counterfeit $20 bill in the self-check area. A Wal-Mart associate examined the bill and noticed several discrepancies.


 

Jacob David Sutherland, 18, Sedalia, was arrested after Sedalia Police responded to the area of 4th and Engineer on a report of loud motorcycle. The officer observed them doing burnouts in the roadway upon arrival. He activated his emergency lights and the cyclists took off. The officer then pursued them until one turned off and he pursued that one. Eventually, the cyclist dropped the bike and took off on foot. The other cyclist (Sutherland) was later located and arrested. Sutherland was taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released. Charges are also sought on the other motorcyclist.


 

Juan Carlos, 24, Sedalia, was arrested on a Municipal warrant (no operator's license) in the 1500 block of S. Osage Saturday evening. Carlos was transported to the Pettis County Jail on a $100 cash bond. He has a court date of April 26.


 

Sedalia Police responded to a report of a non-breathing subject in the 700 block of E. 15th just before 7 a.m. Monday. Life-saving attempts were unsuccessful and the deputy coroner later pronounced the person deceased.
