Sedalia Police reports 8-20-16

Sedalia Police arrested Karen L. Rayl, 53, Green Ridge, on Friday after she allegedly took items from the Salvation Army store at 601 S. Ohio without paying for them. Rayl is an ex-employee of the business, the report said. She agreed to return to the store and settle the issue. It was later learned she was wanted on a Henry County warrant. Her bond was set at $10,000 and she was given a court date of Sept. 20.

Sara M. Williams, 26, Eldon, was arrested for Failure to Appear Upon Arrest or Summons, as well as possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia on Aug. 17 after a traffic stop at Broadway and Monroe. She was found with a small bag of marijuana and a pipe. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail.

Cody Jay Hicks, 26, Sedalia, was arrested for shoplifting and possession of marijuana on Friday. Hicks was transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked and released with a court date of Oct. 26.

James Darrel Yount, 21, Sedalia, was arrested for 2nd Degree Domestic Assault after an incident in which a couple were fighting near 7th and Washington on Frida. Yount was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was held pending the filing of state charges.

Audriana M. Turner, 17, Sedalia, was arrested on a Johnson County warrant around 5 a.m. On Friday.

Haley E. Carter, 20, Jeff City, was arrested after a traffic stop at Broadway and Arlington on Aug. 17. Carter was wanted on a Cooper County warrant and was transported to the Pettis County Jail.

Jacques D. Harden, 39, Sedalia, was arrested after a traffic stop at 5th and Harrison. Harden was wanted on a Municipal warrant. Bond was set at $88 with a court date of Sept. 14.

Justin K. Bryan, 23, Sedalia, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana after a traffic stop at 12:15 a.m. Friday near 13th and Moniteau. He was issued a summons and a court date of Sept. 14.

Raymond C. Berry, Jr., 27, Sedalia, was arrested Aug. 18 for Failure to Appear-Misdemeanor after Sedalia Police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 1200 block of S. Washington. Also arrested at the same time was Kayla Benton, 27, Sedalia. Police are seeking 2nd Degree Domestic Assault charges on Benton.

Samantha L. Clawson, 38, Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Revoked Aug. 18. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked and released.

James E. Gaither, III, 53, Sedalia, was arrested near 14th and Kentucky Aug. 18 for Failure to Appear Upon Arrest or Summons and also for having no driver's license after a traffic stop. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked and released.

Jeffrey R. Stoney, 34, Sedalia, was arrested Friday on a Pettis County warrant for Failure to Appear-Misdemeanor. Bond was set at $155.50.

Police took a report of vandalism to a vehicle Aug. 18 in the 2200 block of W. 5th. The victim said his tires were slashed, causing $300-350 of damage.

Police took a burglary report in the 300 block of E. Howard Aug. 18. Items valued at $1,770 were taken from the residence. There are no suspects.

Police took a report of a stolen license plate (MK5-X5N) from a car parked at a residence in the 1800 block of E. 5th on Friday. There are no suspects.

Police took a report of several items, valued at $1,258.97, stolen from a residence in the 300 block of S. Engineer on Aug. 2. There are two suspects in the case.

A found bike was turned over to police Saturday in the 1100 block of W. 9th. The bicycle was a black-and-white “Kent Ambush.”
