Sedalia Police reports 8-23-16

A young girl was struck by a car just south of 20th and Limit as she attempted to cross the highway Sunday around 2:30 p.m. Police say the child ran out ahead of a group of adults and was hit by a northbound vehicle, causing an ankle injury. She was checked out by PCAD, but not transported, the report said. The car had damage to the front corner and a busted headlamp.

Andre D. Stewart, Sedalia, was arrested for 2nd degree Domestic Assault on Sunday after an incident that occurred in the 200 block of S. Quincy. She was transported to the Pettis Couty Jail on a 24-hour hold.

Andrea N. Johnson, 25, Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Revoked (out of Colorado) after a traffic stop late Monday night at 16th and Missouri. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail with a $533.50 bond and a court date of Sept. 14.

John Paul Nevels, 63, Sedalia, was arrested in the 100 block of E. Broadway Monday night after Sedalia Police responded to a report of an intoxicated man in the store who wouldn't leave. He was allegedly drinking beer and eating fish sticks which he did not pay for. According to the report, the man said he was “having a grand ol' time in the store,” and admitted to not paying for the items. Officers gave him a chance to pay, but he couldn't remember where he lived. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail with a court date of Sept. 21.

Kevin J. Bryant, 24, Sedalia, was arrested after police responded to a report of a marijuana smell at his apartment. He was wanted on a probation violation out of Jeff City. Bryant was transported to the Pettis County Jail with a $200 bond and a court date of Sept. 9.

Jessica JK Bryant, 25, Sedalia, was arrested at 12:39 a.m. Tuesday for Driving While Suspended, No Proof of Insurance, Defective Headlights and Failure to Register with the DOR. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where she was booked and released.

Police took a theft report in the 1500 block of S. Harrison on Sunday. Taken from the residence were a hot water heater, a shower kit and various pex pipe fittings, collectively valued at $460. The suspect is a tenant who was moving out.

Police took a theft report of a stolen license plate from a vehicle that was parked on the Missouri State Fairgrounds Sunday between 3 and 10:30 p.m.

Police took a burglary report of a TV stolen from a residence in the 400 block of S. Brown on Monday morning. The TV was valued at $1,185.

Police took a theft report on Monday involving several items taken from a vehicle in the 400 block of E. 4th. The items were valued at $500.

Police took a theft report of a wallet taken from an unlocked car in the 700 block of E. 17th on Monday morning. There are no suspects.

Police took a found bike report at 107 N. Missouri, 2601 Skyline Drive and also 1523 E. Broadway on Monday. All three bikes were placed into the department's Bike Shed.

A set of keys were turned into police on Monday evening. The keys were found in the area of 17th and Grand.
