Sedalia Police reports 8-31-16
Sedalia Police arrested Marilyn Proscovia Smith, 59, Sedalia, for 2nd Degree Assault and Unlawful Use of a Weapon after officers responded to a disturbance in the 400 block of N. Mill on Tuesday evening. Smith allegedly assaulted a female at the residence. She was transported to the Pettis County, booked and released pending the filing of state charges.

Paul Lawrence Hartelt, 36, 470 Welch Court, was arrested for Driving While Suspended after a traffic stop for improper lane use at 16th and Grand Tuesday night. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail on a $533.50 bond and a court date of Oct. 5.

Ralph Alec Morlock, 41, Sedalia, was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Dangerous Non-Narcotic Drugs after police conducted a subject check at 1200 E. Broadway Tuesday morning. Morlock was transported to the Pettis County Jail.

Officers discovered a case of animal neglect after finding a dead dog and cat in the bathroom of a residence in the 2200 block of E. Broadway Monday.

Police took a vandalism report in the 500 block of W. 6th on Tuesday morning. The passenger window of a vehicle was shattered, and an inhaler, notebooks and $3 in cash were taken.

Police responded to the scene of a one-car accident at 32nd and Park on Monday night, but the driver had already left the scene. According to witnesses, the driver lost control and skidded through the intersection and hit a tree on the north side.

Police took a found property report Tuesday morning. A city worker found a bag containing a green, leafy substance near 708 E. Tower. The bag was turned over to Sedalia Police and it was placed in the evidence room.

Police took a report of a fraudulent use of a credit device on Monday. According to the report, the victim. Who lives in North Carolina, had their card number stolen, and a purchase of $51.60 was made at a gas station at 703 E. Broadway. There are no suspects.

And on Wednesday, Justin Dougan and Lori Lion of Sedalia reported to the Pettis County Sheriff's Office that someone had entered their vehicles and stole property. Investigation continues.
