A 58-year-old Sedalia woman was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center, and then to the Pettis County Jail, after an accident where a vehicle collided with numerous objects as it traveled down the road and overturned. Sedalia Police responded to the area of W. Main St. and S. State Fair Blvd. around 6:30 p.m. on December 5 and made contact with the driver, who police say was intoxicated. Mary E. Beegle was arrested on a DWI charge and one count of misdemeanor resisting arrest.


A warrant check around 8:30 p.m. on December 5 in the 400 block of S. Park Ave. led to the arrest of a 37-year-old Sedalia resident who had a Pettis County warrant for drug distribution. Police say James R. Wilcox was found to be in possession of marijuana and related paraphernalia. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail.


A traffic stop was conducted on December 4 around 8:25 p.m. at S. Wagner Ave. and E. 7th St. on a vehicle with no headlights or taillights on. Sedalia Police say the driver was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, and a passenger was in possession of marijuana and had an active arrest warrant from Kansas City. The driver, 17-year-old Chelsea D. Smith, was arrested and released on the scene with a municipal court summons. The passenger, 18-year-old Thomas N. Thompson, was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail.
