Sedalia Police reports 1-3-18

On New Year's Day at 2:18 a.m., police were called to the 300 block of W. 10th on a domestic disturbance. According to a report, this was the third time in the same night officers responded to a disturbance at the same address involving a male and female. This time, a third male was involved. The report said the suspect assaulted a female and when the third male tried to intervene, the suspect struck him and threw a TV at him, causing minor injuries. Police arrested Billy J. Hill and transported him to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold, pending the filing of formal charges of 3rd degree Domestic Assault.


 

On Tuesday afternoon, Aaron's, 1200 S. Limit, reported a customer refused to returned rental property per four agreements since Oct. 9 with an unpaid balance of $4,672.77. Charges are being sought against the suspect.


 

On Tuesday at 1:24 p.m., Sedalia Police responded to a house fire at 236 S. Prospect. Officers evacuated remaining people and animals from inside the house and began interviewing residents to determine what happened.


 

On Tuesday morning, Sedalia Police arrested 18-year-old Elizabeth Mae Jones after a traffic stop for a brake light out on a blue Chevy Cavalier. According to a report, while obtaining info from the driver and passenger, the officer noticed an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A subsequent search revealed marijuana and meth. The driver then admitted it belonged to her. She was then arrested and placed on a 24-hour hold, pending the filing of charges, including Possession of Marijuana, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
