A 58-year-old Sedalia woman was arrested on July 18 after officers responded to a burglary call in the 1800 block of S. Osage Ave. According to police, a resident told them that someone came in through a side window while he was sleeping and stole his phone, but left behind a case of prescription medication and a pair of sandals. Police contacted Sandy Kay Thomas in the 1500 block of E. 7th Street and say that she admitted to the theft. Thomas was taken to the Pettis County Jail for burglary and stealing.


A Sedalia man is accused of throwing methamphetamine and related paraphernalia from his vehicle when it was stopped just before 7 p.m. on July 17 at E. 14th and South Ingram Ave. Sedalia Police say officers recovered the drugs from the roadway, and 55-year-old Michael Lee Stewart was arrested for possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with physical evidence. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail.


A Toyota Celica was stopped near W. 16th Street and S. Ohio Ave. on July 17 for expired plates. According to Sedalia Police, marijuana and a home made pipe were found during a search of the vehicle. The driver, 17-year-old Wyatt Alan Smith, was issued a summons for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
