On Thursday at 12:38 a.m., Sedalia Police did a building check at Big Lots and discovered a partially open door on the south side and further discovered a man and another person sleeping inside a storage room. Arrested was Jonathan Wayne Ayers, 30, homeless. He was wanted on three Pettis County warrants. Ayers was taken to the Pettis County Jail.

Bradley James Bottcher, 32, Sedalia, was arrested for shoplifting at BreakTime after two detectives detained him at 11:40 a.m. on Wednesday. He confessed to taking the items, which were returned. Bottcher was transported to the Pettis County Jail. His case is being sent to the prosecutor for review.

Daniel Guier of Sedalia reported the theft of his pistol and holster, valued at $650, from his truck sometime between 2 p.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. Wednesday. There are no suspects.

Christopher L. Ford, 42, Sedalia, was arrested on a Pettis County warrant at Probation and Parole, 205 Thompson, on Thursday morning. He has a court date of Aug. 7.

On Thursday morning, Roger L. Strecker of Sedalia reported a theft by credit card to police. Since July 22, a total of $199.57 had been charged to his card from various towns across Missouri, according to the report.
