21-year-old faces statutory rape charges in consensual sex case

Just before 8am this (Tuesday June 24th) the Sedalia Police picked up a 15-year-old Johnson County girl, who was reportedly a runaway. After taking the girl into custody she told her mother she had consensual sex with her 21-year-old boyfriend. Police arrested 21-year-old Benjamin Hollingsworth of Warrensburg, and transported him to jail pending a formal charge of 2nd degree statutory rape.

Sedalia man arrested for threatening a victim with a Machete

Around 8pm Monday night Sedalia Police were dispatched to a residence in the 1000 block of South Kentucky  on a subject threatening a victim with a Machete. Upon arrival officers arrested 24-year-old Bryan Snow of Blue Springs, and transported him to the Pettis County jail. At the time of the police report Snow was on 24-hour hold pending charges of assault 1st degree, and armed criminal action.

Daughter charged for breaking her mother’s nose in a domestic assault case

At 10:54 Monday night Sedalia Police responded to the area of 3rd and Engineer on a disturbance. Upon arrival a female victim told officers her daughter had struck her in the face breaking her nose. Arrested at the scene was 27-year-old Carlenna Deloris Lange of the residence. Lange was transported to the Pettis County jail where a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia was found in her property. At the time of the police report she was on 24-hour hold pending multiple charges.

Woman claiming to have been sexually assaulted arrested on a warrant

Just after 8pm Monday night Sedalia Police responded to the 3200 block of west Broadway in reference to a possible assault. Upon arrival the caller told officers she had been sexually assaulted at a residence at Osage Beach Sunday night, and requested to be taken to the hospital. The police report states upon arrival at Bothwell Hospital the woman refused to cooperate with nursing staff, and was eventually discharged. Following her discharge from the hospital the officers arrested the woman identified as 29-year-old Raquel Cook of Sunrise Beach on an outstanding Camden County warrant with a $300 bond.

Father files a missing person report on his two- year-old son

Around 1pm Monday afternoon a father came to the police station to file a missing persons report on his two-year-old son. According to the man he had custodial custody on the boy, and his mother moved, and took the boy with her. The police report states a missing person report was filed in the case.

Camper damaged in the 400 block of East Howard Saturday

At 6:18 Saturday evening Sedalia Police took a property damage complaint from a victim in the 400 block of East Howard. According to the police report someone damaged the door and its lock by attempting unsuccessfully to pry it open. There are no suspects.

Pettis County Sheriff’s Deputies investigate a Deer versus vehicle accident

According to a Pettis County Sheriff’s report at 3:19am this (Tuesday June 24th) Pettis County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a vehicle accident involving a Deer on Highway “D” near Hughesville. The driver of the 1999 Ford, 30-year-old Jacob Dean Koch of Marshall was not injured, but the vehicle was reportedly totaled. There was no other information available at news time.

The Tiger Eagle Stop located at 3415 East Broadway reported a $38.01 gas drive-off  Monday morning.
