Sedalia Police Reports 10-26-16

Sedalia Police took a report of embezzlement on Tuesday from the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, 2102 W. Broadway, involving a member of the organization stealing about $7,000 from Aug. 24, 2015 to Aug. 24, 2016. There is a suspect in the case, the report said.

Police took a property damage report Tuesday at Katy Depot, 600 E. 3rd street, involving damage done to the red caboose that is on display there. According to the report, there was broken glass on the northwest window. It appeared to have been struck several times by an object and was cracked in several places. There are no suspects at this time, the report said.

The American Legion, 2016 W. Main, reported the theft of $1,100 in cash on Monday. The complainant said that cash was missing from a bank money bag. There is a suspect in the case, the report said, adding that the complainant is deciding whether or not to pursue charges.

A box of syringes were found in the 1400 block of E. 12th on Tuesday. The report said that children located the box in a ditch while playing, adding that the kids did not touch the syringes. The box was taken to the Sedalia Police Department and disposed.

Cassidy Marie Kelm, 17, Pettis County, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana after a traffic stop at 16th and Thompson Tuesday night. She was the passenger in the Mustang. Kelm was issued a Municipal summons and a court date of Nov. 16.

Jacob D. Dykes, 39, Milan, Mo., was arrested on multiple drug charges after officers responded to a report of someone passed out behind the wheel of a car at 3rd and Limit Tuesday morning at 5:21 a.m. Officers woke him up and it was later discovered that Dykes was in possession of methamphetamine and related drug paraphernalia. The report said the driver attempted to tamper with the evidence. Dykes also had an active warrant out of Brookfield. He was transported to the Pettis County jail on a $70,000 cash or surety bond.

Brian K. Rhynes, 52, Sedalia, was arrested and charged with 2nd degree Domestic Assault after officers responded to a reported assault in Southwest Village on Tuesday just before midnight.

Alvin Odell Brown, Jr., 53, Sedalia, was arrested for causing a disturbance at the Bothwell Regional Health Center ER after he refused to leave after officers repeatedly asked him to leave. He finally left and then began kicking barricades across the street from the hospital. He was then placed into custody and transported to the Pettis County, booked and given a court date.
