Sedalia Police Reports 10-31-16

Sedalia Police took a report on Thursday evening from Kevin Walker, 700 W. Broadway, involving the theft of one of his political signs from his front yard. Walker said he has video of the incident and the name of the subject who took it. The information has been turned over to the Juvenile office.

Police took a report of an apparent attempted vehicle theft in the 1500 block of S. Harrison Thursday evening. The driver's window was broken out and the steering column was messed with, the report said, causing $1,000 of damage to the van. There are no suspects.

Late Thursday evening, police took a report from Kyle G. Smith involving damage to his vehicle that occurred at 3101 W. Broadway. Police are following leads.

Police took a theft report involving $50 worth of items taken from an unlocked Pontiac G5 in the 1100 block of S. Barrett on Wednesday. There are no suspects.

Police took a property damage report from Brenda K. Reven on Thursday in the 1320 block of S. Moniteau. A neighbor reported seeing a vehicle parked next to Reven's for a short time at 11:40 p.m. Wednesday. It was later discovered there was damage to the steering column and ignition when she tried to start it the next morning. There are no suspects.

Pauline L. Billingsley reported the theft of a blue-green 1999 Plymouth Voyager van from the 1000 block of E. 7th on Thursday. It was last seen at 9:30 p.m. Oct. 26 and discovered missing by 4 a.m. Oct. 27.

Thomas Burlingame reported the theft of his white 2012 Lincoln MKZ, taken from his driveway overnight Thursday.

Emily Ann and Beltran Jose Almazan, Sedalia, reported the theft of their unlocked car from the 600 block of Wilkerson Friday morning. There was also a pink bag in the car containing driver's licenses and credit cards. The vehicle was later located, processed for evidence and returned to the owners. One credit card had been used. There are no suspects.

Police took a burglary report in the 500 block of W. 3rd Thursday night. According to the report, someone entered the home while the resident was at work and took tennis shoes, cell phone chargers and money.

Christopher Bryan Quick, of the 800 block of E. 18th, reported that someone came through his bedroom window and stole a firearm sometime between 6:30 p.m. on Friday and 11:50 a.m. Saturday.

Police took a theft report from James A. Burnwerth on Wednesday involving the theft of a scanner and GPS unit from his unlocked car, which was parked in front of his home in the 1400 block of S. Stewart. There are no suspects.

Tavares Qyndel Black, 37, Sedalia, was arrested at 421 W. Broadway for trespassing after police responded to a disturbance there at 2:28 a.m. Sunday. Black was asked to leave several times and the suspect was arguing and fighting with people at the residence. Black was transported to the Pettis County Jail and released without bond, pending the filing of state charges.

Mary Jane Stewart, 65, Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Suspended after a traffic stop at 3rd and Quincy Sunday at 1:50 a.m. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail and released without bond, with a Nov. 16 court date.

Jorge L. Esquivel, 23, Pettis County, was arrested for Driving While Suspended after a traffic stop on a green Malibu for a broken brake light at Boonville and Hill Sunday afternoon. He now has a Nov. 16 court date.

Ponciano Chano Gonzalez, Jr., 25, Sedalia, was arrested for Failure to Appear Upon Arrest or Summons after Sedalia Police responded to a disturbance at 420 S. Engineer. Gonzalez was wanted on a Municipal warrant. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail on a $50 bond and a court date of Nov. 9.

Sandra L. Morris, 68, Richmond, Mo., was arrested for Failure to Appear-Felony after Sedalia Police responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries Friday. Morris was wanted on an Independence warrant with statewide extradition, the report said. Morris was treated at Bothwell Regional Health Center for her injuries, then arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail on a $5,000 bond.

Nicholas Ryan Vaughan, 35, Sedalia, was arrested near Boonville and Hill Saturday night for walking in the roadway where a sidewalk was available. According to the report, the subject was very uncooperative, and requested the officer give him a summons, which he did. He was arrested, transported to the Pettis County Jail and given a court date of Dec. 7. Bond was set at $109, cash or surety.

Kayla Elaine Fletcher, 18, Sedalia, was arrested after her brother accused her of breaking his TV during an argument about bills, causing $200 of damage. She was issued a Municipal summons and a court date of Nov. 16. The incident occurred in the 1100 block of S. Harding.

Kirk A. Riley, 27, was arrested in the 900 block of S. Vermont late Saturday night after police responded to a domestic dispute. Riley was charged with 3rd degree Domestic Assault and transported to the Pettis County Jail. The victim had minor injuries and refused treatment.

Marcus N. Dollar, 34, Warrenburg, was arrested for Driving While Suspended, Resisting Arrest and Failure to Yield to an Emergency Vehicle after he called Sedalia Police, stating he was being chased by several vehicles. A silver minivan was later spotted traveling at a high rate of speed into the west city limits. Officers attempted to stop the van, but the driver refused to pull over. A short pursuit ensued, ending at 1720 W. Broadway where the driver finally pulled over. Dollar was transported to the Pettis County Jail.

Kcy Dale Curtis, 29, Sedalia, was arrested after a traffic stop at 16th and Limit for a defective tail light on Friday. Curtis was a passenger in the vehicle and was wanted on a Municipal Bond for stealing. Curtis' bond was $50 and was given a Dec. 7 court date.

Timothy L. Davis, 40, homeless, was arrested for Possesion of Drug Paraphernalia after a subject check at Dollar General, 619 N. Ohio, on Sunday evening. Davis was transported to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold.

Treston Dontrell Clay, 22, Sedalia, was arrested after a traffic stop at 16th and Montgomery at 10:13 p.m. Friday night. He was wanted on a Wentzville warrant. Clay was transported to the Pettis County Jail.

Brook N. Bale, 35, Sedalia, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana after officers checked on someone in a parked vehicle in Katy Park after the park closed. Bale was a passenger in the vehicle. Bale was issued a Municipal summons and a court date of Nov. 16.

Taylor Michael Gilliam, 20, Sedalia, was arrested for Failure to Appear Upon Arrest or Summons Thursday. Gilliam was wanted on a Municipal warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $90.50 cash and was transported to the Pettis County Jail.

Heather Nicole Reyes, 26, was arrested for Failure to Appear-Misdemeanor after she called Sedalia Police on an animal complaint Thursday morning. A computer check revealed Reyes was wanted on three FTAs. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail. Bond was set at $253.50 and she now has a court date of Nov. 15.

Jimmy Dean Hineman, 30, Sedalia, was arrested after a traffic stop for failure to stop at a stop sign at 12th and Montgomery at 1:16 a.m. Sunday. He was wanted on a Boone County for non-support of a child. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and booked. Bond was set at $1,000, cash or surety.

Mark A. Lancaster, 40, and Amy Irene Lancaster, 42, both of Bothwell Park Road, were arrested outside Boonslick Regional Library, 219 W. 3rd Street, on Johnson County warrants Wednesday. Bond for Mark was $750, while bond for Amy was set at $650.

Officers responded to the area just east of 16th and Winchester (near the roundabout) where a vehicle hit a deer Saturday night. The deer had run back into the city limits after being struck. According to the report, the deer was not salvageable and was shot so it didn't suffer any longer. The Missouri State Highway Patrol assisted Sedalia Police in the incident.

Matthew M. Thomas, 24, Sedalia, was arrested while in city court Wednesday. Thomas was wanted on a Johnson County warrant. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail on a $4,500 bond cash or surety.

Vincent Andon, 37, Sedalia, was arrested after Sedalia Police responded to a call about an intoxicated person refusing to leave. He was found next to a tree when officers arrived. According to the report, this was the 2nd call on the same subject. Andon was transported to the Pettis County Jail on a 12-hour protective custody hold. He now has a court date of Dec. 7 on a trespassing charge.

Elizabeth M. Malonado, 27, Marshall, was arrested for Driving While Suspended after a traffic stop at Veterans Memorial Drive and Saline Friday for expired registration on a 1998 Olds.

Charles W. Montgomery, 43, Marshall, was arrested on a Municipal warrant for Failure to Appear. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail from the Saline-Pettis county line Saturday. His bond was set at $150 cash and he has a court date of Dec. 7.

K-Mart. 1400 S. Limit, reported two windows broken, valued at $400 each, on Friday morning. Also, State Fair Laundry, also in the State Fair Shopping Center, reported one window broken, also valued at $400. There are no suspects.

A woman's wallet was found in a shopping cart at the Sedalia Wal-Mart, 3201 W. Broadway, on Sunday and it was turned it into police, who tracked down the owner. She said nearly $600 was missing from her wallet. There are no suspects.

Lori D. Haney, Sedalia, reported that someone fraudulently used her credit card to make a $138.44 purchase, it was reported on Wednesday. There are no suspects.

Someone turned in a set of keys found near 3rd and Missouri in the roadway on Sunday night. They were placed into evidence.

On Friday, a driver's license was turned in to police. It was placed into the property room, the report said.

Police took a report of a stolen cell phone taken Sunday at 318 W. Broadway. The phone was valued at $350. There are no suspects.
