Sedalia Police were dispatched to the area of West 18th Street and South Prospect Avenue for a report of assault on October 5.

Police say that a man claimed that while riding his bicycle, a man in a car attempted to scare the man's girlfriend. The man said that the suspect parked the vehicle and he attempted to make contact and the suspect assaulted him.

39-year-old Jon Joseph Burkey was issued a Sedalia Municipal Court summons with a court date of November 2.

Sedalia Police officers conducted a traffic stop just before midnight on October 5 on West 10th say they discovered a passenger in the vehicle to be in possession of marijuana.

According to a Sedalia Police report, a silver Jeep was stopped for failure to display a front license plate. Police say 18-year-old Morgan Hawkins, a passenger in the Jeep, was in possession of marijuana.

Hawkins was arrested for a Sedalia municipal charge of possession of marijuana and taken to the Pettis County Jail, where she was fingerprinted, booked, released and issued a court date.

Sedalia Police were called to the 300 block of East 2nd Street just after 3 a.m. on October 6 to investigate a claim of domestic violence.

Officers met with the caller who said that her husband was highly intoxicated and had assaulted her. Police say they determined that an assault did take place, and arrested 31-year-old Gary Douglas Horn of Sedalia for 3rd Degree Domestic Assault.

Horn was transported to the Pettis County Jail, pending state charges.

Sedalia Police were called to Woods Express to investigate a case of property damage on Wednesday night.

According to police, around 10 p.m. on October 5, a vehicle drove away from a gas pump after pumping fuel without replacing the nozzle. The hose then broke near the top of the pump.

Police say the suspect has not yet been located.

Mark Edward Hankins, 56, Sedalia, was arrested after Sedalia Police responded to a burglary in progress on Albright Court. Hankins was later found to be wanted on a Failure to Appear-Misdemeanor on a Pettis County warrant (theft). He was transported to the Pettis County Jail on a $100.50 bond and a court date of Oct. 11.

And the Pettis County Sheriff's Department is investigating an assault that reportedly occurred north of Windsor near Windsor Road on Oct. 5.
