Sedalia Police crime reports 9-8-17
Sedalia Police arrested Dalton Wright, 24, Leeton, on a shoplifting charge at Break Time, 318 W. Broadway, at 1:19 p.m. Wednesday.


On Friday at 12:45 a.m., Sedalia Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a motorcycle at 16th and Limit, but the driver refused to stop and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The pursuit was later terminated due to safety concerns.


Sedalia Police arrested Gary Charlie Brown, Sr., 59, at Howard and Engineer after an officer observed him walking in the roadway at 4:15 p.m. Thursday. He was found to have an open container of alcohol. He was also charged with walking in the roadway where a sidewalk is provided. He was taken to the Pettis Conty Jail with an Oct. 14 court date.


 

Tammy Ann Ballew, 37, homeless, was arrested at 15th and Vermont at 4:15 p.m. Thursday after a traffic stop on a silver Ford Fusion. Ballew allegedly gave the officer a false name and claimed to not know her date of birth. The suspect then ran from the officer. After a short foot pursuit, Ballew was taken into custody. Ballew was wanted on two warrants – Endangering the Welfare of a Child ($10,000 bond) and a probation violation (no bond). She now has a Sept. 18 court date.


 

On Thursday, New Haven, 1506 W. Broadway, reported a female juvenile runaway. She was last seen July 6, according to the report.


 

On Thursday, Ches L. Perkins reported to police that someone went through his plane at Sedalia Regional Airport and stole the keys, valued at $10, from the airplane sometime between 8 p.m. Monday and 11:30 a.m. Thursday. There are no suspects.


 

On Thursday, Sedalia Police arrested Damien Prentice Cloe, 26, after officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 800 block of La Grand Drive. Cloe was wanted on a no-bond probation violation warrant. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail.


On Thursday morning, Stacey Hendricks reported a hit-and-run that occurred on the Missouri State Fairgrounds, 2503 W. 16th. According to the report, the suspect backed into her Hendricks' trailer while it was parked on the grounds. The suspect was driving a silver Ford 3500 pulling a horse trailer.


 

On Thursday morning, Mark Willadsen reported that someone scratched his vehicle while it was parked overnight at a business at 701 W. Main. Scratch marks were visible on both sides of the vehicle, as well as the hod and trunk. There are no suspects.


 

On Thursday, Nichole Joyner reported that someone had spray painted the side of her garage in the 1000 block of W. Broadway. Other locations nearby in the alley (fences and buildings) were also painted, the reported noted.


 

On Thursday, Brent Kay and Evett Schuster reported that a cell phone was stolen from a locker at Smith-Cotton High School Satdium, 2010 Tiger Pride Blvd., during football practice. The stolen item was a gold iPhone with a clear case and a square sticker on the back.


On Thursday, the Air Force Investigations Division reported to Sedalia Police that a victim was sexually assaulted, but the exact location of the incident was not revealed to police. Investigation is ongoing.


 

On Friday at 1:23 a.m., Sedalia Police responded to the 2400 block of Stacey Lane on an intoxicated person creating a disturbance. Taken into protective custody for a 24-hour hold was Trevor Ross Leary, 24.


 

On Wednesday at 16th and Lamine, Sedalia Police arrested Dylan Michael Keele, 20, Sedalia, after a traffic stop on a silver Mitsubishi Galant for no turn signal. During the stop, the officer noticed the smell of marijuana. A subsequent search revealed marijuana and a pipe. The pipe was destroyed at the scene. Keele was issued a Municipal summons and a court date of Oct. 14.


 

On Thursday morning, a stolen vehicle was recovered near 12th and Summit. Police returned the car to its owner. There was no damage to the vehicle, according to the report.


 

Morgan Taylor Foote, 19, was arrested by Sedalia Police in the 130 block of Boonville and Hill Avenue after a traffic stop on a black Buick for expired plates. The driver was found to be in possession of marijuana. Foote was issued a Municipal summons and a Sept. 20 court date.


 

Preston Jerrell Poindexter, 32, Sedalia, was arrested after Sedalia Police responded to a disturbance in the 1000 block of S. Vermont late Thursday night. Poindexter was charged with Identity Theft and Resisting Arrest. He was also wanted on a Lafayette County warrant with a $7,500 bond). Poindexter was taken to the Pettis County Jail.


 

Pierre Dedric Sams, 45, La Monte, was arrested by Sedalia Police after a traffic stop near Broadway and Limit at 4:04 a.m. Thursday. Sams was wanted on a Saline County warrant ($10,000 cash or surety bond) and a Pettis County warrant ($5,000 cash or surety bond). The driver, 47-year-old Kimberly A. Esser of Pettis County, was charged with Driving While Suspended and was also wanted on Saline County warrant.


 

Cody Jennings, 33, Sedalia, was found to have an open container of alcohol in the vehicle he was riding in after a traffic stop for no turn signal Aug. 31 at 7th and Lamine. He was arrested and later released on summons.
