Sedalia Police arrested 67-year-old Paul W. Van Steenberg of Sedalia after officers responded to End Zone, 3129 W. Broadway, on a hit-and-run report over the weekend. According to the report, witnesses said Steenberg backed out of a parking space, ran into the complainant's vehicle and drove off. Steenberg allegedly caused $3,000 of damage to the complainant's vehicle. Steenberg was later located, arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was charged with Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident.


Sedalia Police arrested 60-year-old Paul M. Witten of Sedalia after officers responded to a two-vehicle injury accident at Broadway and Crescent Drive shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday night. Witten, who was the only one not injured in the accident, was taken into custody, transported to the Petis County Jail and charged with DWI. He was booked and released. The other three injured parties in the other vehicle were all transported to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment.


On Wednesday (Apr 10), Pettis County deputies responded to Smasal Road and Highway 65 in reference to a burglary. The victim stated that several tools were stolen from his barn and other out-buildings early in the morning. The value and number of stolen items have not yet been determined.
