SPD crime reports

On Sunday night, Sedalia Police officers responded to a physical disturbance in the 900 block of E. 5th Street. One subject had already fled the area when police arrived, but later discovered he was responsible for two accidents on South Grand. Police arrested Jaime Almaza Meza, Sedalia, for Driving While Intoxicated-Prior Offender, Driving While Suspended, 2nd degree Felony Assault, Leaving the Scene of an Accident and on a warrant. Meza allegedly caused a motor vehicle accident at Broadway and Grand and 6th and Grand. The victim at the Broadway and Grand accident, Michael Stewart, sustained minor injuries, but refused medical treatment. Meza's bond and court date was to be determined.

Sedalia Police arrested Elijah Hamid Watts, 24, Sedalia, for resisting arrest after an officer observed several people fighting in the parking lot at BreakTime, 318 W. Broadway, on Sunday night. Watts took off running from the scene, but was later found hiding behind a bush at 7th and Moniteau. Watts was transported to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold.

Harley Renee Danks, 44, was arrested for 3rd degree Domestic Assault after Sedalia Police responded to a disturbance in the 900 block of E. 5th on Saturday night. The victim said he was trying to obtain items from the residence, where he has lived for the past several months, when he was allegedly assaulted by his ex-girlfriend, slapping him in the face. Danks was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where she was booked and released.

Taylor NM McIntyre, 18, Sedalia, was arrested for 3rd Degree Assault and Resisting Arrest after Sedalia police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 400 block of E. 13th Sunday evening. The victim claimed McIntyre had locked him out. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail.

Beth McSparren report the theft of her Chevy truck tailgate and two curio cabinets, totaling $450 in value, on Sunday afternoon in the 1600 block of E. 7th Street. There are no suspects.

Dillon Mallonee reported the theft of a 2010 Dodge Ram 3500 tailgate, taken between Friday and Sunday in the 600 block of E. 13th. There are no suspects.

Christopher E. Good, Sedalia, sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his left hand after he says he was reloading his pistol after cleaning it on Saturday night in the 1500 block of South Missouri. Sedalia Police responded to the BRHC ER at 7:13 p.m. and determined that it was an accident.

Susan A. Sweeny, 37, Sedalia, was arrested in the 1700 block of W. Main Friday on a Benton County Failure to Appear-Misdemeanor warrant. Her bond was set at $1,000.

Jonathan W. Ayers, 30, homeless, was arrested for Driving While Suspended after a traffic stop at 3rd and Center Sunday afternoon. The red 1992 Pontiac Grand Am he was driving had expired plates. Ayers was transported to the Pettis County Jail.

Bradley Eframe Kern, 54, Sedalia, was arrested after Kern came to the Sedalia Police Department on Sunday and asked if he had any warrants, which he did. He was wanted on a Pettis County warrant. Kern was transported to the Pettis County Jail on a $500 cash bond.

On Sunday, Bradley E. Kern reported that someone put a white substance in his gas tank and also slashed two tires on his 2000 Chrysler van, causing $400 of damage. There is one suspect.

Charles L. Davis, Sedalia, reported on Saturday that someone broke the back window out on his rental property located at 1723 S. Grand. The property was vacant at the time of the damage. However, a pair of jeans and a shirt were found on the living room floor. There are no suspects.

On Sunday, Vicki L. Mullins reported that someone forced open a door to a garage located in the 200 block of E. Jackson. There are no suspects.

Walter Jay Combes, 56, Sedalia, was arrested by Sedalia Police after a traffic stop at Broadway and Park on a silver Buick for following too close and defective license plate lights. The driver was found to be revoked and intoxicated.

James Charles Campbell, Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Revoked after a traffic stop at 6th and Engineer Friday. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released.

Kurtes Eugene Marshall, 21, Sedalia, was arrested after a traffic stop on a red Pontiac at Main and Park Saturday. Marshall was not the registered owner of the vehicle and also had two traffic-related Municipal warrants for his arrest. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a $100 bond and a court date of Feb. 1.

On Friday, Brittnee Lemons reported that she noticed her wallet was missing on Jan. 4. She surmised it fell out of her vehicle while she arriving for work in the 800 block of S. Limit. She later discovered her credit card had been used several times around town.

Miguel Angel Chavez, 19, Sedalia, was transferred from Johnson to Pettis County by Sedalia Police at 3:08 a.m. Sunday. He was wanted on a Municipal warrant and was transported to the Pettis County Jail on a $50 bond with a court date of Jan. 11.

Pettis County deputies took a property damage report from Jason Groshart of Sedalia on Monday, stating that his mailbox was damaged overnight.
