Sedalia Police Crime Reports for the Afternoon of July 17, 2017

Sedalia Police responded to a burglary in progress around 7 p.m. on July 16 in the 1300 block of S. Carr. A caller told dispatch that two men were trying to break in to a residence behind his. The suspects had fled by the time officers arrived, but the caller provided descriptions. Police say they do have suspects in the case, but contact has not been made with those suspects.

A 47-year-old Sedalia man was arrested for shoplifting at Sedalia's Walmart on July 16 after he allegedly hid a bottle of alcohol in his pants. Police say they saw the bottle sticking out of the suspect's pants after making contact with him in the 3100 block of W. Broadway. Marc L. Head was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail.

A 20-year-old Sedalia man was arrested just before noon on July 15 after police conducted a traffic stop on 2nd Street. According to a Sedalia Police report, a bag of marijuana and drug paraphernalia were discovered during a probable cause search. The driver also had a suspended license. Dylan M. Keele was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released.

A 19-year-old Sedalia woman is accused of biting and scratching a man on July 15 in the 200 block of Grand Avenue. Police were called to a domestic disturbance around 7 p.m. Crystal D. Reynolds was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, where she was placed on a 24-hour hold. Police say the victim suffered minor injuries and was not treated.
