The following Sedalia Police crime reports are from the morning of Oct. 24, 2013.

Thieves enter a man’s garage and home to steal $3500 worth of items

Around 9:50 Tuesday morning, Sedalia police took a theft report from a victim at the police station. According to the victim, someone entered his garage and house and stole several items. The victim said the thief or thieves stole a laptop computer, some welding torches and a chainsaw. The value of the items was placed at $3500. There were no suspects at news time.

Burglary complaint filed Tuesday afternoon in the 1800 block of South Sneed

Just after 1:00 Tuesday afternoon, Sedalia police were dispatched to a residence in the 1800 block of South Sneed on a burglary complaint. Upon contact with the female victim, she told the officers someone entered the home sometime between the hours of 6 and 10 p.m. on Sunday night and stole a television, a DVD player and some hats with sports logos. There are no suspects at news time.

A business on Winchester Drive reports the theft of an expensive grill

According to the owner of a business in the 800 block of Winchester Drive, someone stole a commercial series grill from just outside his business sometime overnight Monday. The grill was tethered to a concrete block with a cable, which the thief cut. Value of the grill was placed at $300 and there were no suspects.

Thief steals a purse with woman’s Mexican ID card

At 9:31 Tuesday morning, a female victim came to the police station to report her purse had been stolen from a vehicle, that was parked in the 1700 block of South Stewart at the time. The victim said the purse contained her Mexican ID Card, which she would have to get replaced in Kansas City.

Hit-and run-accident investigated in Woods Parking Lot

Just after 5:30 Monday evening, a victim reported a hit-and-run accident that occurred in the Woods Supermarket parking lot. According to the police report, the victim’s vehicle suffered damage to the passenger side door handle, fender and bumper. There was no damage estimate available at news time and the suspect has not been located.
