Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 1300 block of South Barrett Avenue Tuesday afternoon (April 4), for a subject check. According to the report, when officers made contact with the man, he provided a fake name. Officers placed the suspect, 40-year-old Gary L. Vandawalker Jr, under arrest for identity theft. During the arrest, Vandawalker reportedly began resisting and assaulting law enforcement. He was eventually taken to the Pettis County Jail.


Around 5:30 Tuesday afternoon (April 4), Sedalia Police located a suspect at Fav Trip, located at 216 West Broadway. According to the report, dispatch confirmed a Pettis County warrant for the male suspect. Officers arrested 21-year-old Jacob D. Haulcy for the warrant and transported him to the Pettis County Jail, with a bond of $25,000.


Sedalia Police responded to the 1600 block of East Broadway on Tuesday afternoon (April 4), for a reported hit and run accident. The report indicates the vehicle had backed into the far west fuel pump at the business and damaged it. The vehicle then left the scene. The suspect vehicle was eventually located. Upon contact with the driver, 44-year-old Reuben J. Moore, he admitted to having a marijuana pipe in his car. Moore was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released for Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.


On Monday morning (April 3), Sedalia Police spoke with a woman in the lobby of the police station. She reported that she received a text message from a male suspect, that had an order of protection against him. Police contacted the suspect and he agreed to come in for questioning. The reports states that officers informed the suspect of his Miranda Rights and he understood his rights. According to the report, the man admitted to violating the order of protection. The suspect, 41-year-old Jeffrey S. Garret, was arrested and taken to the Pettis County jail.


On Tuesday (April 4), Sedalia took a theft report that had allegedly occurred in the 100 block of South Park Avenue. The victim stated that someone had taken items from her locked vehicle, sometime overnight. A black purse with skull designs was reported stolen. There were no further details listed in that report.
