Around 2:00 Wednesday morning (Aug 9), Sedalia Police were investigating a vehicle accident near Broadway and Limit Ave, when a Nissan Pathfinder pulled into the area and the driver began honking the horn. Police made contact with the driver, who reportedly said he was being threatened and chased by a large number of people. The investigation revealed that a 9-year old child in the Pathfinder had been reported kidnapped out of Linn, MO. The driver, 31-year old Joe David Davis, of Chamois, MO (located in Osage County), was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail. According to the report, authorities in Linn are seeking charges against Davis, for kidnapping in Osage County. Davis was placed on a 24-hour hold in the Pettis County Jail. The child was returned to family members. There were no further details listed in that report.


Just after 10:00 Tuesday morning (Aug 8), Sedalia Police made contact with a man walking in an alley near the area of W. 10th Street and S. Prospect Ave. The man was found to have a no-bond felony parole violation warrant out of Pettis County for Absconding. The suspect, 26-year old Zachary DeWayne Palmer was reportedly in possession of drug paraphernalia, as well. Palmer was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail.


On Monday (Aug 7), Sedalia Police arrested 36-year old Gonzalo J. Esqueda, near 5th Street and Ohio Ave, for an active parole violation warrant. Esqueda was taken to the Pettis County Jail, with no bond.


Just after 8:00 Tuesday night (Aug 8), Sedalia Police conducted a warrant-check in the 1500 block of S. Missouri Ave. According to the report, a probation violation warrant out of Pettis County was confirmed for the suspect, 39-year old Amy Irene Clark. Police arrested Clark and transported her to the Pettis County Jail, with a $7,000 bond.


Around 2:30 Monday afternoon (Aug 7), Sedalia Police conducted a warrant-check at 205 Thompson Road. A probation violation warrant was reportedly confirmed for 51-year old Monty D. Pierce. He was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, with a $1,550 bond.


On Wednesday (Aug 9), Sedalia Police conducted a traffic-stop near Saline Street and Welch Court for a vehicle with expired registration. According to the report, the driver had two FTA warrants from Pettis County. The driver, 24-year old Shayla K. Russell, was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, with a bond of $160.
