On January 31st, around 4:11 in the afternoon, in the area of Main Street and Moniteau Avenue, Sedalia Police officers arrested 38-year old Donovan L. Simms on a Pettis County warrant. Simms was transported to the Pettis County Jail with a bond of $3,500.00, cash or surety.

 

Around 10:00 in the morning on January 31st, in the 1800 block of South Grand, Sedalia Police officers conducted a warrant check on a subject. 30-year old Melissa M. McClanahan was arrested for 2 probation violation warrants out of Morgan County and Pettis County. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail with a bond set at $4,500.00.

 

Around 4:08 in the afternoon of January 30th, in the 400 block of East Booneville Road, there was a reported physical altercation. Upon arrival and investigation, police officers arrested 46-year old Julie Kay Herbst and 37-year old Christopher Wayne Mathis for domestic assault in the 3rd degree. They were both transported to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold pending prosecutorial review.

 

Late in the evening of January 30th, around 11:33, in the 700 block of East Broadway, Sedalia Police officers conducted a traffic stop. The driver’s information was run through dispatch and arrested 24-year old Davis S. Carson for a warrant. The suspect also turned out to be in possession of a controlled substance. Carson was transported to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold with a total bond of $4,500.00 for the controlled substance and the warrant.

 

On January 28th, there was a shoplifting incident at Wal-Mart, located at 3201 West Broadway. Upon arrival, Sedalia officers arrested 34-year old Lea Andreya Keith for the shoplifting incident. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail where she was booked and released, with a court date to be determined later. The value of the shoplifted items was placed at $75.74.

 

Around 3:41 in the afternoon of January 30th, Sedalia Police took a report of a theft at 300 North Iron Avenue, at Advantage Metals. A security guard witnessed the theft but by the time officers arrived, the suspect had left the scene. A wire cage container that held a plastic storage unit was the reported item stolen. The value was placed at, at least $250.00. There were no further details listed in the police report. But the investigation is ongoing….
