Around 5:20 Sunday evening (Oct 16), Sedalia Police officers conducted a warrant check in the 1700 block of South Grand Avenue. Contact was made with the suspect and a probation violation warrant was confirmed out of Jefferson City. 40-year old Jeremy L. Prost was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, with no bond.

 

On Sunday (Oct 16), officers were dispatched the area of 15th Street and Summit Avenue for a report of property damage. The victim stated someone jumped on the hood of her car, causing damage. The estimated cost to repair the damage was placed at $200.00. The suspect is unknown at this time.

 

Around 1:00 Saturday afternoon (Oct 15), officers responded to the 700 block of East 14th Street for a domestic assault. The suspect said he had been arguing with the victims all day. The victims stated the suspect grabbed his sword and advanced at them. The suspect, 36-year old James A. Burnworth was arrested and placed on a 24-hour hold in the Pettis County Jail, for domestic assault and armed criminal action.

 

Around 8:00 Friday evening (Oct 14), officers were dispatched to the area of South Kentucky Avenue and West 10th Street for a vehicle accident. An investigation revealed one driver had a suspended license and was also in possession of illegal drugs. Officers arrested 27-year old Zachariah Cameron Sparks for driving while suspended, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of controlled narcotic pills, and drug paraphernalia. Also, for introducing drug contraband into the jail, and child endangerment. Sparks also had an active Sedalia Municipal warrant, with a bond of $90.50. He was placed on a 24-hour hold with a new bond and court date, to-be-determined.

 

Just after midnite, Saturday, officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of South Osage Avenue and West 11th Street, after officers observed a Harley Davidson motorcycle that had been reported stolen, in September. 32-year old Christopher Michael Brown was arrested for 1st degree tampering with a motor vehicle and driving while revoked. He was placed on a 24-hour hold in the Pettis County Jail.

 

Around 8:00 Thursday evening (Oct 13), officers conducted a warrant check in the 600 block of North Lamine Avenue. Contact was made with the suspect and a Sedalia Municipal warrant and a Pettis County warrant, were confirmed. 32-year old Candice Nachelle Johnson was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, with $200.00 bond.

 

Last Thursday (Oct 13), officers took a report of a stolen vehicle in the 1200 block of South Massachusetts Avenue. The victim stated his truck was parked in front of the residence for about 15 minutes. The vehicle is described as a 1992 Ford F-150, long bed, pick-up truck. It has a red hard bed cover and black, after-market wheels, and chrome rings. There were no further details listed in that report.

 

Around 2:40 Friday afternoon (Oct 14), officers conducted a warrant check in the 300 block of South Lamine Avenue. A Pettis County warrant was confirmed and 29-year old Samantha R. Jacobs was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, with a bond of $5,000.00, cash or surety.

 

Around 9:30 Saturday night (Oct 15), officers conducted a subject check in the 300 block of East Saline Street. The suspect was drunk and knocking on doors in the area. The suspect was located and determined to be too intoxicated to take care of himself. 49-year old Jesse Robert Smith was arrested and placed in 12-hour protective custody in the Pettis County Jail.

 

Around 11:30 Saturday night (Oct 15), officers took a report from a victim who stated the suspect was making threats to kill her and that he had killed her boyfriend. The suspect, 41-year old Shawn Wesley Spellmeyer was located and arrested. He was placed on a 24-hour hold in the Pettis County Jail, pending state charges of harassment. According to the report, the victim's boyfriend was later located and found to be O.K.

On Friday (Oct 14), Pettis County Sheriff's deputies arrested Chance R. Crosswhite, for a Cooper County warrant. No other details were listed in that report.
