Around 1:00 Sunday morning (August 7), officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of West 16th Street and South Park Avenue, for a vehicle that had expired license plates. Upon contact with the driver and the passenger, officers ran their information through dispatch. Dispatch advised that the passenger in the vehicle had an active felony probation violation warrant from Saline County, on an original charge of child neglect. 34-year old Carl Frank Smith was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, with a bond set at $10,000.00, cash.

 

 

Just before 4:00 Sunday morning (August 7), Sedalia Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of West 18th Street and South Limit. The driver had a suspended license. 24-year old Merle Allen Piers II was arrested and placed on a 24-hour hold in the Pettis County Jail.

 

 

Just before 7:00 Saturday evening (August 6), Sedalia Police officers were dispatched to the area of West 3rd Street and South Missouri Avenue, in reference to a motor vehicle accident. The driver of one of the vehicles, had a suspended driver’s license. 33-year old Miguel Valencia-Rubio was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, with a bond set at $533.50, cash or surety. There were no other details listed in that report.
