Around 12:30 Wednesday afternoon (Dec 7), Sedalia Police officers responded to the 1000 block of South Ohio Avenue, on a report of a subject at a residence who had a Pettis County warrant. Upon officers’ arrival, the suspect closed the door and refused to open it again. The person who was renting the residence arrived, and let officers inside. The suspect was found, hiding in a back room. The warrant was confirmed for three counts of receiving stolen property. 23-year old Austin Taylor Schoonover was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, with a bond of $15,000, cash or surety.

 

Around 9:00 Tuesday night (Dec 6), officers responded to the 400 block of East 17th Street, for a report of an assault in progress. An investigation revealed the suspect had assaulted one person by threatening physical violence. 25-year old Justin William Sei was arrested for 3rd Degree Domestic Assault. He was placed on a 24-hour hold in the Pettis County Jail.

 

Sedalia Police officers responded to Walgreens (801 South Limit) on Wednesday for a reported theft. The suspect had allegedly filled a shopping cart with items and left the store without paying. The estimated value of the items was placed at $250.00. The incident is still under investigation. No further details were listed in that report.
