Sedalia Police officers were dispatched to the 200 block of West Cooper around 3:00 Tuesday afternoon (Feb 14) for a reported disturbance. Officers made contact with one man and checked his information through dispatch. The man had a Sedalia FTA warrant. 21-year-old Jacoby M. Bell was arrested for the warrant and taken to the Pettis County Jail. The cash bond was placed at $150.


Just before 11:00 Monday morning (Feb 13), Sedalia Police were dispatched to Kohl's for a report of shoplifting. The complainant had the suspect in the security office. The suspect allegedly tried to steal a drawstring backpack and a bottle of cologne. The estimated value of the items was placed at $87.00 The suspect, 17-year-old Masen Moore, was issued a municipal summons and released.


Around 8:40 Monday night (Feb 13), Sedalia Police officers took a report of found property in the 300 block of East Saline. A woman told officers there was a rifle in a gun case, hanging on the fence in her backyard. She did not know where the rifle came from. Police officers took the rifle and placed it in storage. The rifle is described as a wood-stocked Remington 700 bolt-action 30-06, with a scope, and a brown fabric case.


Around 5:15 Monday evening (Feb 13), Sedalia Police responded to the 400 block of East 13th Street for a reported burglary. The victim stated that while she was at work, someone had entered the residence and stole several guns and an i-pad. Leads have been developed in the investigation, but there was no further information listed in that report.
