According to Sedalia Police Commander Larry Ward, the police department will be receiving two new dogs for the K-9 Unit. Ward said the money has come through the efforts of drug enforcement in the area and at the expense of those who traffic in illegal drugs.

Ward also said it is appropriate that the drug dealers in the area are paying for the dogs and equipment that will be used to rid the area of drugs. According to Ward, the dogs and handlers should be ready to go around the Nov. 1 after the handlers are trained in Arkansas.
