Sedalia Police arrested 18-year-old Dylan Zane after a vehicle pursuit last night (Oct. 8). Sedalia Police located a vehicle that was reported stolen and they attempted to make a traffic stop near 14th and Warren. The vehicle stopped then sped away from scene, when officers approached.

The pursuit went south on Warren to the 2000 Block, where it dead ends and then the vehicle reversed course and the pursuit went east on 16th Street to the area of Arlington, where contact with it was lost. A tip came to Sedalia Police that located the vehicle abandoned in the 1800 Block of East 15th.

Two occupants of the vehicle were located in the immediate area, but it was determined that they were not the driver. Sedalia Police conducted a search of the vehicle and found a loaded revolver under the driver’s seat that had the serial number removed, along with a quantity of suspected meth and some drug paraphernalia.

Three hours later, Sedalia Police located Dylan Zane and he fled from the scene. He was located a short distance away hiding in some bushes and taken into custody, without further incident.

Zane was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment and evaluation of some drug related issues. Zane is in custody, pending action by the Pettis County Prosecutor’s Office.

Zanes faces possible charges of tampering in the 1st degree, possession of controlled substance with the intent to distribute, felon possessing firearm/defaced firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.
