Sedalia Police investigate a reported child abuse early Sunday morning

Just after 3am Sunday morning Sedalia Police were dispatched to a residence in the 1300 block of South Grand on a report of child abuse.  Upon arrival the victim a 16-year-old female reported she had been assaulted by a person or persons familiar to her. The police report states an investigation is ongoing.

Smithton man arrested faces possible driving while intoxicated charges

Just before 1am Friday night Sedalia Police received a call that a vehicle was speeding, and driving erratically in the area of 16th and New York Avenue. The police report states officers located and stopped the vehicle at 16th and Marshall Avenue. . Arrested at the scene was 40-year-old Juanmiguel Figueroa of Smithton. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked and released pending action by the Pettis County Prosecutors Office. The police report states a charge of driving while intoxicated prior offender is being sought.

Woman arrested at the police station for making a disturbance

At 3:13 Sunday afternoon Sedalia Police took a child abuse  complaint at the police station. According to the police report the complainant raised her voice loudly, and was asked to leave several times. When she left the report states she slammed the door against an outside wall with excessive force, and was yelling. The woman identified as 42-year-old Mary McNish was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a $283 bond.

Vehicle stop Sunday night results in arrest for a Kansas man

Around 10:20 Sunday night Sedalia Police stopped a vehicle that had been parked in a no parking zone at the police department. A subsequent check on the driver, 31-year-old Jeremy N. Masengale of Olathe Kansas revealed he was a suspended driver. Masengale was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked and released with a court date.

Victim in the 300 block of West 7th reported a broken window

At 3:27 Sunday morning Sedalia Police took a property damage complaint from a victim in an apartment in the 30 block of West 7th. According to the victim someone threw a brick though a window of the apartment. There were no suspects at the time of the police report.
