Sedalia Police Officer Reacts to Two Lifesaving Situations on Friday

On Friday KSIS brought you the story of a premature baby given life-saving CPR by a Sedalia Police Officer. That incident occurred early Friday morning. Friday afternoon Sedalia police were dispatched to a second incident, that required the skills of Officer Derrick DeSalme. This time the victim was reportedly an adult who was choking on an apple, whose face was red, and turning white. DeSalme employed the Heimlich maneuver to dislodge the apple. KSIS appreciates all of the officers of the Sedalia Police Department, who like Officer DeSalme are there with the training and know how required in these kinds of situations. Incidents like this proves the slogan  on the police cars, that says “Protect and Serve” are not just words.
