Sedalia Police reports 8-5-16

Sedalia Police took a burglary report in the Sedalia Housing Authority area. SHA staff reported that tools were missing from a residence in the 400 block of Albright Court on Thursday morning.

A woman reported that a man she knows stole her wallet while she was at Casey's General Store, 3050 S. Limit, on Wednesday. The suspect took her wallet and ran from the scene. The wallet contained the victim's ID and a large sum of cash, the report said.

A Sedalia man reported the theft of his motorcycle helmet from the 800 block of Winchester on Tuesday afternoon. The motorcycle was parked outside, and the helmet was valued at $200. There are no suspects in the case.

Sedalia Police took an assault report from a woman in the 200 block of E. 6th on Thursday. The victim alleges that a National TV Sales & Rental employee entered her residence to reclaim some rental property. When she confronted him, she said the employee grabbed her arm and pushed her to the ground. Police noted the victim did have a minor injury to her left arm. The suspect's account of the incident was vastly different than the victim's, the report said. He denied assaulting the victim. Charges of trespassing and assault are being sought at this time.

Carla D. Ballew, 46, Stover,, was arrested for Failure to Appear-misdemeanor and Identity Theft after a traffic stop at 2424 S. Limit late Thursday night. The vehicle was reportedly involved in a theft at the Sedalia Wal-Mart earlier. Ballew was wanted on a Henry County warrant. She provided false information to police to avoid arrest, the report said.

Christopher L. Clough, 27, Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Suspended after a traffic stop for speeding at 16th and Monroe Thursday night. Clough was transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked and released with a court date of Sept. 21.

Alvin O. Brown, Jr., Sedalia, was arrested in the 100 block of W. Broadway after Sedalia Police responded to a public peace disturbance. He was accused of threatening people. Brown was transported to the Pettis County Jail with a court summons for Sept.14.

And Pettis County Sheriff deputies arrested Christopher Michael Brown of Sedalia at 11th and Massachusetts on Aug. 5 for Driving While Revoked or Suspended.
