Sedalia Police reports 2-7-18

Sedalia Police arrested 28-year-old Damon J. Schmidt after officers conducted a subject check at 1217 S. Limit on Tuesday afternoon. Schmidt was wanted on a Pettis County warrant. He was taken into custody on a charge of 2nd Degree Domestic Assault, and transported to the Pettis County Jail on a $1,500 bond with a Feb. 27 court date.


 

Sedalia Police arrested 25-year-old Stephanie E. Buckner, Sedalia, after officers were called to the 100 block of E. 13th on a medical Monday morning. According to a report, a male was assaulted by a female at the residence. The male had a large laceration to his head. The female suspect left the area on foot, but was later located at the SPD and taken into custody. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail with her court date and bond amount TBA.


 

On Tuesday, Sedalia Police took a sexual assault report that occurred Monday in the 1300 block of S. Osage. An investigation is ongoing.


 

Sedalia Police arrested 33-year-old Jason A. Villatoro of Sedalia on a charge of 4th Degree Domestic Assault after officers responded to a domestic assault call on Tuesday afternoon. According to a report, one subject left the scene prior to arrival, but later located around 3rd and Lamine. Villatoro was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail ½ block away.


 

On Wednesday at 1:45 a.m., 44-year-old Jennifer R. Arndt of Sedalia was arrested after an officer attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding and running a stop sign at 4th and Engineer. The driver refused to stop until 3rd and Porter where the traffic stop occurred. Arndt was taken to the Pettis County Jail, where she was booked and released.


 

Sedalia Police took a report of a stolen firearm that was recovered at 2805 W. Broadway on Tuesday. The weapon was placed on hold at the SPD.


 

On Tuesday night, Tommy Edwards reported that he was assaulted at 5th and Emmet while walking home around 9 p.m. According to a police report, Edwards refused medical treatment, but did request an investigation into his assault. An investigation is ongoing.
