Sedalia Police arrested a Columbia man after a traffic stop that led to a pursuit and short foot chase on Monday. Officers attempted to stop Victor Seth Ryan Kee, 17, Columbia, after it was learned the vehicle he was driving was reported stolen out of Columbia, but he sped up and led officers on a short chase until it hit a curb in the Bothwell Regional Health Center parking lot. Both subjects in the car then tried to flee the scene on foot, but were soon apprehended. The passenger was later released on the scene without charges, but the driver was charged with Felonious Restraint, Tampering With a Motor Vehicle, Resisting Arrest For a Felony, and 1st degree Property Damage. Kee was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending state charges.

A Sedalia man reported an incident that occurred Saturday to Police involving a black Mercedes that attempted to run over him in the Lowe’s parking lot. The action stemmed from an incident that happened earlier around 3 p.m. at 20th and Limit, when the Mercedes tried to go around the victim, who was waiting to turn onto Limit. According to the complainant, the suspect became upset and followed him to Lowe’s. The victim tried to obtain the vehicle’s license information, and that’s when the suspect allegedly pushed him, then tried to run over him when the victim tried to read his plate.

Autozone, 2601 W. Broadway, reported a theft from the business on Friday afternoon at 4:51 p.m. Management observed a man leave the store, setting off the loss prevention alarm. Management told him to stop, but he continued to his car and left the area. Management was able to give a detailed description of the man and the plate number to Sedalia Police. No arrests have yet been made in the case.

Amanda Kay McAteer, 24, and Amanda Lay Bobbitt, 34, were arrested late Friday night after a police responded to a disturbance in the area of 15th and Engineer. McAteer was arrested for Failure to Appear upon arrest or summons, while Bobbitt was placed into a 12-hour protective custody until she sobered up.

Pashion D. Williams, 20, was arrested for 3rd degree assault after Sedalia Police witnessed him threaten another man and grab his shirt in their presence on Sunday at 2:49 p.m. Police had responded to a report of a disturbance in the 400 block of Buckner Court. Williams was transported to the Pettis County Jail.

Ebone R. Madden, 28, Knob Noster, was arrested for Failure to Appear Upon Arrest or Summons after a traffic stop at 4th and Ohio Saturday at 4:45 p.m. for expired plates. Bond was set at $150.

Juan M. Herrera, 24, Sedalia, was arrested Sunday at 1:23 a.m. after police responded to a report of a burglary in progress at 1109 E. Broadway. The caller discovered Herrera in his residence, assaulting his sister. Herrera was charged with 1st Degree Burglary, Sexual Misconduct, 3rd Degree Assault and Resisting Arrest for a Felony. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail on a24-hour hold, pending state charges.

Jose Guadalupe Gonzalez-Ayala, Sedalia, was arrested at midnight Saturday near 16th and Stone Creek, for Operating a Motor Vehicle Without a Valid License after a traffic stop. He had an active Pettis County warrant, the report said. Bond was set at $5,000, cash or surety, with a court date to be announced.

Michael David Rackham, 37, Sedalia, was arrested Saturday evening at Wood's Supermarket, 701 E. Broadway, after a traffic stop for Driving While Revoked. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked and released.

Jason Sullenger, 40, was arrested at Bothwell Regional Health Center, 601 E. 14th, after Sedalia Police responded to a disturbance between a patient and medical staff. Sullenger was placed in protective custody for 12 hours at the Pettis County Jail.

Police arrested Emilio G. Olivios Baltazar, 39, Sedalia, for Driving While Suspended after a traffic stop at 16th and Warren Saturday night shortly after 9 p.m.

Rachel L. Palmer, 23, Knob Noster, was arrested for Failure to Appear-misdemeanor after a building check in the 1100 block of South Osage. She originally had a charge of failure to register a motor vehicle. Bond was set at $300 with a court date of Aug. 23.

Marvin Anthony Smith, 33, Sedalia, was arrested for 2nd Degree Domestic Assault after police responded to a disturbance in the 400 block of North Mill Friday afternoon. Officers later determined he was in need of mental health treatment.

Wendy Gail Calhoun, 29, Sedalia, was arrested for 3rd Degree Domestic Assault Sunday at 3:29 a.m. After she allegedly assaulted two subjects at a residence in the 300 block of E. Saline. The subjects reported minor injuries, but refused medical treatment. Calhoun was transported to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold pending state charges.

Sheila Lorraine Humphrey, 45, Sedalia, was arrested for Possession of Marjiuana after a traffic stop near 11th and Porter for failure to signal. She was a passenger in the vehicle, the report said. She was issued a Municipal summons and a court date of Sept. 14.

Cork n' Bottle, 3806 E. Broadway, reported the theft of three bottles of alcohol, collectively valued at $120, on Sunday just before noon. There are two suspects in the case.

Darci L. Shipley, 55, Sedalia, was arrested for DWI and 2nd Degree Assault with Vehicular Injury after police responded to a two-car accident at Broadway and Engineer on Friday at 10:48 p.m. Shipley, one of the drivers, was found to be intoxicated. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail.

Jennifer L. Hammond, 30, Pettis County, was arrested for Failure to Appear-misdemeanor after a traffic stop at 6th and Limit for expired plates. She was a passenger in the vehicle.

A man reported the theft of his motorcycle helmet over the weekend in the area of 5th and Ohio. The black HJC helmet was valued at $80.

A Sedalia man reported the theft of his .40 caliber pistol, valued at $205, from an apartment at the Sedalia Housing Authority while visiting a friend in the 400 block of Albright Court Sunday evening.

Police took a report of a broken vehicle window in the 1300 block of E. 4th on Sunday evening. There are no suspects.

Police took a report of an abandoned bike at Broadway and Grand on Sunday. It was placed into the SPD's bike shed.

Police took a report of a found bike in the 1100 block of W. 2nd on Sunday afternoon. A witness said a male was walking the bike down the roadway, when he dumped it and walked away. The bike is an orange Huffy BMX. It was placed in the SPD's bike shed.

Police took a report of a stolen cell phone from a storage locker at Liberty Pool, 1500 W. Third, on Saturday. It was a black LG phone with a black-and-blue case and a Deadpool screen saver.

A white cell phone was found in the produce department of Wood's Supermarket, 701 E. Broadway, on Sunday. The phone was locked, so no owner information could be obtained, the report said. It was placed into evidence.

A woman found a wallet in her yard in the 1400 block of S. Prospect. Messages were left for the owner, but the wallet had still not been picked up at the time of the report.

Break Time, 808 E. Broadway, reported a $10 gas drive-off on Saturday afternoon around 2:30 p.m. There are no suspects.

Police took a report of a broken apartment window in the 600 block of S. Osage on Saturday afternoon. The victim was home at the time the window was broken by a thrown rock.

 

And Pettis County deputies took a report of a possible assault in the 1400 block of Route M on July 24 (Sunday). There were no injuries reported.
