Sedalia Police reports 7-29-16

On Thursday, Sedalia Police arrested Haley Nichole Piers, 20, for Failure to Appear Upon Arrest or Summons on a Municipal warrant on an original charge of stealing. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail with a $150 bond and an Aug. 10 court date.

Michael D. Nutt, 64, Sedalia, was arrested Thursday night in the 700 block of North Grand after officers drove by and noticed a strong odor of marijuana in the area. A search revealed the suspect was sitting on his back porch, smoking marijuana. A total of 38 grams was discovered. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail for a 24-hour hold, pending a felony charge.

Alvin O. Brown, Jr., 53, homeless, was arrested at 3rd and Osage on a Pettis County warrant Thursday morning. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail.

Justin Wayne Cochran, 30, Sedalia, was arrested on a parole violation Thursday evening and transported to the Pettis County Jail with a court date to be announced.

Sean Sebastian Burke, 45, homeless, was arrested on a 24-hour hold after a subject check at 17th and Kentucky Wednesday night after police observed two people yelling in the middle of the street. Burke was taken to the Pettis County Jail pending sobriety.

April D. Peterson, 26, Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Suspended after a police responded to a two-car crash at Broadway and Grand on Wednesday. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail.

Police took a report of stolen computers from the 700 block of E. 17th on Friday. The computers, taken between Tuesday and Wednesday, were valued at $435. There are two suspects in the case.

U-Hail, 416 W. Main, reported that someone signed for a pickup on July 21, but never returned the vehicle. Felony charges are being sought.

Casey's General Store, 3050 S. Limit, reported a $10.62 gas drive-off on Thursday at 12:59 p.m. No vehicle description was available, but a plate number of KN0-K3V was given to police.

Dollar General, 619 N. Ohio, reported a theft to police on Thursday. Video surveillance showed someone place a $6 pair of flip-flops into a white $10 bag and walk out of the store around 3 p.m.

Police took a report on Wednesday of a break-in at a garage in the 900 block of S. Sneed. Taken were a Stanley tool set, a socket set and a Black & Decker sander, collectively valued at $300, stolen sometime between Monday and Tuesday.
