Sedalia Police Respond To Pedestrian Accident

Commander Larry Ward directs traffic at Broadway and Ohio after accident[/caption]There was an pedestrian accident that occurred in the area of Broadway and Ohio around 10 o'clock this morning, when a van hit a woman.
"There was a van that was traveling westbound on Highway 50 and a pedestrian that was traveling southbound that stepped out into oncoming traffic and was hit," according to Commander Larry Ward. "She has been taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center with significant injuries."
The identities of those involved have not been released, but the driver of the vehicle was said to be shook up, but didn't suffer any known injuries on the initial report.
Traffic came to a halt for about 20-minutes, while Sedalia Police cleared up the scene.  A witness locked their key in the car on accident and that caused some of the delay to allow the intersection to be back open again.
