Deputy John Cline of the Pettis County Sheriff's Office was among the participants in the Active Shooter Training and Drill Development Workshop held yesterday (April 29) in Columbia, Missouri. The workshop was sponsored by the Missouri Center for Education Safety and the Missouri School Resource Officers Association.

A new state law requires schools to coordinate with law enforcement to conduct drills for active shooters beginning this fall. The workshop included training that will give law enforcement officials and school personnel the tools they need to conduct training for their local school districts, providing significant savings to school districts. The workshop was designed for superintendents, school resource officers, local law enforcement officials, school safety coordinators and other school safety personnel.
