The local Senior Center in Sedalia with the Care Connection for Aging Services are looking for people who want to volunteer and help out.

Care Connection for Aging Services is a not-for-profit organization designated by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services to assess the needs of older adults in the 13-county area they serve; develop necessary public and private resources to meet their needs; and deliver to our constituents a comprehensive and coordinated system of services, information, and access to needed services.

Care Connection will provide resources and services that empower people to create healthy aging experiences. They strive to realize this mission on a daily basis through the 22 Local Centers served by dedicated staff and volunteers.

I got to talk with Susu, one of the people with our Sedalia Senior Center, about how much they need your help and what you can do.

Their vision statement states the people they serve will live with maximum independence, respect and dignity. The Senior Center with the Care Connection seeks volunteers to help locally. They’re looking for home delivery meal drivers, beverage bar attendants, dining room attendants, kitchen assistants and front desk reception.

The center is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and is located at 312 South Washington Avenue.  Make a contribution or volunteer your time by calling 660-473-1909 or 826-0713.

Voluntarily yours,

Behka
