Sedalia Senior Center to Host Medicare 101 Presentation
Six area senior centers will host 'Medicare 101 presentations' this month, including one in Sedalia.
According to a press release from Care Connection for Aging Services, the hour-long presentations are geared toward people who are preparing to enroll in Medicare or recently enrolled in the program – whether they plan to continue working or to retire.
The sessions will begin at noon.
Participants have the opportunity to learn about Medicare’s benefits, premiums, deductibles, and copayments, as well as the differences in Parts A, B, C, and D.
The sessions are free and open to the public. However, reservations are required. For more information and to make a reservation, call 1-800-748-7826.
Care Connection says that lunch will be available to people who are 60 and older, for a small contribution. Lunch will also be available, for the cost of the meal, to those younger than 60.
Participants can learn how to find assistance to assist in paying for prescriptions and medical care. Additionally, the workshop addresses prescription drug plans, supplemental insurance, and Medicare Advantage plans. A question-and-answer session will follow the workshops.
The workshops will be presented at the following locations:
