A traffic stop performed by the Sedalia STING Unit in the area of West Main St. and South Kentucky Ave. led to a drug bust on Albright Ct. on Tuesday (Dec.10).

Detectives with the Sedalia STING Unit performed the traffic stop on the vehicle after the vehicle failed to use a turn signal. Police found the driver, Leo Travis, in possession of marijuana. Travis was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail.

Sedalia Police went to the apartment that Travis had just left and gained permission to search the residence at 430 Albright Ct. Police found Brandiss Jackson, his 8-year-old daughter and John Hughes in the home. Hughes was found to have a warrant and was arrested.

A K9 Unit came to search the apartment and found marijuana and methamphetamine in a bedroom.

Travis, 48, was arrested for charges of possession of marijuana; 34-year-old Jackson was charged with possession of marijuana and methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a child; and 28-year-old Hughes was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance.
